We finished our musical year last night with the folk from Newtownards Baptist Church who had a carols outreach evening at Ballywalter Orange Hall. The snow was on the ground outside, and inside we could see our breath even though the electric wall-mounted heaters were on full blast and were glowing an appropriately bright orange! Eric Lisk brought his accordion, Jim Annett had his 12 string guitar, there was a tin whistle playing Pastor too and it was a really enjoyable night. The mince pies and hot tea at the end were just the ticket.
Thanks to you all for a very fulfilling and rewarding year, the new CD "Soda Farls and Redemption Songs" has done really well and we're down to just a few dozen having only launched it 6 months ago. Thanks to those who bought it, who recommended it, who downloaded it on iTunes - from here at home, Scotland, USA and Australia. And also thanks to those who are eagerly anticipating the next one - watch this space! We'll leave you for this year with these words from one of the pieces we played last night:
"Was it for me, sweet angel strains, came floating o'er Judea's plains
That starlit night so long ago, was it for me God planned it so?"
